Arleigh Burke-class destroyerHuntington Ingalls Industries has won a potential $21.4 contract from the U.S. Navy to perform modernization, repair and maintenance work on the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Ramage.

The Defense Department said Monday the contract has an initial value of $14.1 million and covers the ship’s fiscal 2017 extended selected restricted availability.

Work will occur at Huntington Ingalls’ facility in Pascagoula, Mississippi through August 2017.

The Naval Sea Systems Command received four offers for the contract through a full and open competition on the FedBizOpps website.

NAVSEA will obligate $12.1 million at the time of the award from the Navy’s fiscal 2016 operations, maintenance and “other” procurement funds.

USS Ramage is equipped with the Aegis combat system, a vertical launching system, an anti-submarine warfare system, anti-aircraft missiles and the Tomahawk cruise missile.
