CrowdOptic has entered into an alliance with SOFWERX to deploy a mobile application that will work to help U.S. Special Operations Command field operatives relay data on specified targets to central command.
The app will utilize CrowdOptic’s focal clustering technology and proprietary algorithms to deliver live-streams of targets and their GPS location, CrowdOptic said Thursday.
“SOF partner forces typically rely on personal cell phones as their primary communication device,” said Cameron Hunt, SOFWERX chief information officer.
He added that CrowdOptic’s algorithms work to bring additional value to data streams.
The focal clustering technology is designed to broadcast and determine locations of objects during emergency situations when used to support law enforcement, firefighters and first responders.
CrowdOptic’s FieldApp also makes use of the technology to help track points of interests for field estimation, surveying and geo-coordination activities, the company said.
The alliance is part of the SOFWERX-organized 1208 Rapid Prototyping Event.
SOFWERX formed under a partnership intermediary agreement of Doolittle Institute and USSOCOM.
