Construction, engineeringContrack Watts has secured a potential $45.2 million firm-fixed-price contract from the U.S. Navy to modernize an aircraft maintenance hangar facility at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

The Defense Department said Monday the MCBH Hangar 101 modernization project will include refurbishment of selected historical features such selective demolition, painting, doors, masonry walls, metal stud and gypsum, board walls, acoustical ceiling panels, interior finishes and alarm systems installation.

Contrack Watts will also add aqueous film forming foam, plumbing, industrial waste and sanitary sewer, electrical power and lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as provide incidental-related services at the facility.

DoD noted the contract also covers site clearing, excavation, grading, fencing, generators, pad-mounted transformer, distribution systems, telecommunications infrastructure, water distribution and AFFF industrial waste systems support services.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command received six proposals for the project through a competitive solicitation on the Navy’s Electronic Commerce Online portal.

DoD said the service branch will provide $44.2 million at the time of award from fiscal 2014 military construction contract funds and about $8.9 million of the total obligated contract funds will expire by the end of the current fiscal year.

Contrack Watts is scheduled to finish work in April 2019.
