The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded Comprehensive Health Services Inc. a contract to provide medical and staffing services to a temporary shelter for unaccompanied children from foreign countries that have entered the U.S.
CHSi received the contract from the office of refugee and resettlement under HHS’ division of children’s services, the company said Monday.
CHSi said it recruited staff for the shelter such as mental health clinicians, doctors, case managers, nurses and teachers over a period of six weeks in an effort to support children from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.
The company also provided counseling, educational programs, case management, reunification and recreation support services during the children’s 30-day stay at the shelter.
