F16FleetBoeing and Harris have partnered to develop new avionics technology in an effort to support current and future types of military aircraft during aviators’ missions.

Harris said Wednesday the companies will build core mission processing architectures that will work to manage multiple aircraft functions such as as communications, sensors, navigation and displays.

Harris will produce the design for the common processing hardware and subsequently integrate that platform with Boeing’s Secure Computing Solution, Phantom Fusion mission software and multi-level communication network.

Ed Zoiss, president of Harris’s electronic systems segment, said the company’s core processor hardware is designed to increase processing power and cross-platform application functions for military aircraft with the goal of flexibility with various mission requirements.

Harris will also utilize its experience in interfaces, security, processors and military quality packaging techniques to build new mission processing hardware based on an open systems architecture.
