Ball Aerospace has ranked as a Tier 1 supplier in the U.S. Air Force‘s Superior Supplier Incentive Program for 2016 in recognition of the company’s work as a prime contractor for the military branch.
This is the first time the company qualified for the Air Force’s annual ranking, which evaluates contractors based on three years of contractor performance assessment reports, Ball said Tuesday.
“We greatly value the collaborative relationship we have with the Air Force and we are honored to work with them to support the men and women who serve our country,” said Rob Strain, Ball Aerospace president.
Ball’s national defense and systems engineering business units support a number of Air Force spacecraft and defense programs.
The company said the Air Force has refined its methodology on assessing the scope of work of individual company business units to rank them from Tier 1 to Tier 3 as part of the incentive program.
The Superior Supplier ranking works to provide feedback to contractors in an effort to encourage potential improvements within their units.
