Atlantic CommTech Corp. has won a $36.5 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force modernize the service branch’s Weapon Storage and Security System and Alarm Communication and Display.
The Defense Department said Friday the company will perform sustainment upgrades to the WS3 cryptographic platform that works to encrypt the system’s alarm data.
ACT-Corp will also replace obsolete components and the buried cable of the AC&D system, DoD added.
Work will occur at U.S. air bases located in Germany, Italy, Turkey, Belgium and the Netherlands through Oct. 22, 2020.
The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center received three proposals for the contract and will obligate $7.2 million at the time of the award from fiscal 2016 “other” procurement funds.
ACT-Corp is a Norfolk, Virginia-based woman-owned company that offers a range of technical services to U.S. government customers and prime contractors.
