PacStar has been selected by the U.S. Army to provide a software platform for the military service to manage the security of wireless command posts.
The Army chose PacStar’s IQ-Core Software with Commercial Solutions for Classified Plug-In to help secure classified information as part of the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical Increment 1 program, the company said Thursday.
PacStar noted the plug-in will work to address setup, configuration and monitoring challenges that may arise when the service branch implements CSfC.
The software is designed to also help users configure internet protocol security-virtual private networks, manage certificates, publishing and distribution of certificate revocation lists and access multivendor equipment with a single user interface.
“Rapidly assembling and implementing secure networks at command posts and similar in-theater environments is normally a complex, manual operation typically performed by highly trained specialists,†said PacStar CEO Peggy Miller.
Miller added that the company aims to help the Army transmit data from controlled wired network locations to wireless networks with the IQ-Core platform.
The National Security Agency established the CSfC program to help Defense Department organizations implement layered commercial applications designed to protect national security systems data.
