The U.S. Air Force seeks industry comments on its draft request for proposals for the development of microwave sensor technology for a follow-on weather satellite.
A notice posted Thursday on FedBizOpps stated the Weather System Follow-on Microwave contract will also cover sensor and space vehicle integration, mission data processing software development, existing ground infrastructure integration and post-launch operational support services.
Interested parties can submit input to the service branch through Sept. 16.
The service branch wants industry to submit feedback on specific draft RFP sections such as periods of performance, any particular risk areas, contract data requirements list, statement of work, compliance document list, data rights assertions, technical volume preparations instructions, technical risk evaluation criteria and capacity.
The Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center’s remote sensing systems directorate aims to publish a formal RFP on the WSF-M program in the first quarter of fiscal year 2017 and award the contract by the end of FY 2017.
