The Department of Veterans Affairs wants information from potential industry sources of a web-based platform designed to track GPS-equipped vehicles within the continental U.S.
A sources sought notice posted Friday on FedBizOpps stated that VA seeks vendors who can provide hardware, installation, training, monthly wireless GPS vehicle tracking and fleet management services.
VA requires equipment and software that are compatible with the Las Vegas GPS system.
The department looks for a GPS tracking system meant to help users monitor vehicles in real time through the internet as well as report and display vehicle status, landmarks, maintenance notifications, according to the notice.
The notice added that the platform should also include customer support, on-board vehicle diagnostics, driver safety and position-velocity-time data reporting features.
Responses to the notice are due Aug. 25.
