Lockheed Martin has awarded Trust Automation a contract to manufacture a vehicle automation system for the former’s Q-53 counterfire target acquisition radars.
Trust Automation said Tuesday it will supply motion control systems to support Lockheed’s production of Q-53s for the U.S. Army.
Craig Von Ilten, vice president of business development at Trust Automation, said the award represents the company’s fifth Q-53 radar support contract award from Lockheed.
Q-53 is designed with air surveillance and counter-rocket, artillery and mortar features and seeks to provide military users a 360-degree protection from indirect fire.
Trust Automation is a women-owned small business that offers motion and motor control products for defense, semiconductor, industrial automation, green tech and medical industries.
