Saab has received a potential $14.5 million order to supply Carl-Gustaf weapon system ammunition to the Swedish army.
The Swedish defense material administration, FMV, made the contract award and expects deliveries to conclude in 2017, Saab said Tuesday.
Gorgen Johansson, head of Saab’s dynamics business area, said the order covers the delivery of both training and live ammunition to the Swedish armed forces.
The Carl-Gustaf system, which was introduced in 1948, uses a wide range of ammunition and is designed to help dismounted warfighters engage adversaries in buildings, clear obstacles and counter armored vehicles.
Carl-Gustaf M4Â is a man-portable weapon system that weighs less than 15 pounds and works with intelligent sighting tools as well as anti-armor and support rounds.
