Raytheon logo_EbizRaytheon has secured a $52.6 million task order to modernize the U.S. Air Force‘s miniature airborne global positioning system receiver 2000 in accordance with Defense Department and civil regulations.

DoD said Friday the company will develop, test and deliver a military code/automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast capable and propose engineering changes to the baseline configuration.

The MAGR 2000 design is developed based on open system architecture to provide GPS satellite tracking and GPS integrity.

Raytheon will incorporate GPS M-Code and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast out functionality into MAGR-2K-M and address obsolescence issues.

The company will also modify MAGR-2K-M and perform line replaceable unit level environmental and functional testing.

Work will occur in El Segundo, California, through July 11, 2019.

The Air Force guaranteed $12.6 million from its fiscal 2016, 2017 and 2018 research, development, test and evaluation funds for the sole-source contract at the time of award.
