Pentek has added a new signal recording and playback system to the company’s Talon family of products designed for military, security and government intelligence-gathering missions.
The RTS 2620 Sentinel Intelligent Signal Scanning rackmount is the first recorder to incorporate the Talon recording system, signal scanner and radio frequency tuner and upconverter, Pentek said June 27.
RTS 2620 is also designed with Pentek’s Model 78621 Cobalt transceiver module that functions as the data acquisition engine for the recorder.
“Not only can this new recorder help engineers in a lab record and analyze signals of interest, it can also be deployed in a war-fighting environment where enemy signals need to be detected or captured for tactical purposes,” said Rodger Hosking, vice president of Pentek.
The Sentinel recorder works to automate the signal monitoring and detection process and help the user specify frequencies between 2 megahertz and 6 gigahertz to start and stop a frequency scan.
The recorder runs a Windows 7 Professional workstation and is powered by Intel‘s Core i7 processor.
