Orbital ATK has been awarded a potential $118 million contract to continue its logistics support for missionized Cessna 208 aircraft flown by the Iraqi air force to perform security missions.
The company said Tuesday it will also provide maintenance and support training, produce spare parts, repair components, update publications for Iraq’s Armed Caravan program.
The contract has an initial $11 million value and work could extend through 2020 if all options are exercised.
Cary Ralston, vice president and general manager of Orbital ATK’s defense electronic systems division, said the company has supported the Iraqi air force through maintenance and training services.
The company has delivered three armed AC-208Bs, three RC-208B reconnaissance aircraft and five TC-208B trainers to the Iraqi air force over the past years.
In June, the State Department approved Iraq’s request to procure sustainment and logistics services and spare parts for its AC-208 fleet under a $181 million foreign sales deal with the U.S. government.
Orbital ATK and Flight Safety International will be the principal contractors for the sale.
