Kevin McDonald, former vice president of operations at National Technical Systems, has been appointed vice president of programs at Chemring Group subsidiary Chemring Ordnance.
Chemring said Tuesday McDonald previously served as senior general manager for General Dynamics‘ ordnance and tactical systems large caliber operations business with responsibility over a demilitarization center and two government-owned, contractor-operated facilities.
His career at General Dynamics also includes roles as program manager of the 120mm Tank Ammunition Second Source Program and general manager of munition services operations.
He joined General Dynamics through its acquisition of General Defense Corp., where McDonald started his career as an electrical engineer in 1984.
Perry, Florida-based Chemring Ordnance produces parachute illumination, smoke signals, small caliber ammunition, 40-millimeter grenade-launched ammunition and other pyrotechnically-activated devices for U.S. and international military agencies.
