Highways England has partnered with Jacobs Engineering Group to identify design options for multiple planned road improvement projects in the east, southeast and northwest regions of England.
Jacobs said Tuesday it will provide engineering design services for civil engineering works and traffic technology, surveys, stakeholder engagement, traffic and building information modeling, environmental and principal designer services to Highways England.
The stage two options development work will cover modernization of A428, A12 Chelmsford to A120 and M11 Junction 7, road widening on A31 Ringwood and technology updates to A34 and M6 Junction 19.
Bob Duff, senior vice president of buildings and infrastructure at Jacobs, said the projects seek to increase route capacity and build on the company’s partnership with Highways England.
Highways England operates motorways and major A roads as well as oversees the modernization and maintenance of approximately 4,300 miles of highways across the country.
