Vic Bhagat, formerly executive vice president and chief information officer at EMC, has joined Verizon‘s enterprise solutions business as CIO.
The 30-year industry veteran will oversee the unit’s technology strategy, information technology initiatives and development of next-generation enterprise communications services in his new position, Verizon said Monday.
“With Vic’s passion and creativity to harness IT for innovation and agility, we will advance the experience we deliver to our enterprise and public sector clients,” said Christopher Formant, senior vice president and group president of Verizon Enterprise Solutions.
Bhagat most recently led EMC’s IT transformation program as well as managed global centers of excellence run by the data storage vendor.
He previously spent 20 years at General Electric, where he served as CIO at the company’s aviation services, global growth and operations, corporate, CNBC and India and Southeast Asia businesses.
