The General Services Administration‘s Joint Authorization Board has asked for public comment in aid of ongoing efforts to finalize a criteria on how GSA will select vendors to provisionally authorize in support of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
Matt Goodrich, FedRAMP director, wrote in a blog post published Wednesday the move is in response to suggestions from industry partners on how to prioritize vendors that included a theme in which JAB should work with vendors that can achieve authorization.
GSA’s FedRAMPÂ team has generated an initial criteria on vendor prioritization that includes preferences, FedRAMP readiness and a demand from six or more agencies for products or services.
Goodrich noted the FedRAMP team aims to finalize the prioritization criteria within the next 60 days and will accept responses from interested parties until Sept. 2.
JAB and the Program Management Office have previously prioritized vendors for provisional authorizations using a first come first served basis, the post added.
