Document Storage Systems has secured a potential four-year, $44 million contract to provide logistics and prosthetics graphical user interface overlay software licenses and maintenance services to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
DSS said Monday it will implement the Advanced Prosthetics Acquisition Tool, Above PAR and Enterprise Reporting applications to help the VA modernize the department’s Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture as well as increase workflow efficiency and interoperability through real-time data reporting.
APAT will work to help VA medical centers electronically store and manage documentation on prosthetics while the Above PAR application is meant to help the department monitor equipment and inventory, the company noted.
“Through this contract and our ongoing partnership with the VA, DSS will work closely with VAMCs to integrate automated purchasing workflows and dashboard reporting to increase productivity, improve reporting and reduce costs,†said Mark Byers, DSS president and CEO.
The company also aims to help VA simplify its quotes and orders creation process, access to supply and demand trends, address errors in inventory management and deliver easy-to-access data for supply management in an effort to increase veteran satisfaction ratings.
