The Defense Systems Information Agency is working to obtain a maximum $12 million in funds for its rapid innovation projects, C4ISR & Networks reported Friday.
Mark Pomerleau writes DISA will use the funds to advance its merit-based research and development program meant to deploy innovative technologies.
DISA is seeking solicitations via FedBizOpps in four areas that include a transport layer security inspection system, a cyber intelligence-as-a-service platform, a credential misuse detection tool and a personally identifiable information firewall system.
The Defense Department will have the final say on what projects to finance and the amount of funding, the report says.
DISA told the publication the agency will decide on its four cybersecurity topics in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2016.
