The Defense Information Systems Agency has issued its Security Technical Implementation Guide approval to a MobileIron-built mobile device management platform for deployment at the Defense Department.
DISA cleared the MobileIron Core platform for use on iOS and Android devices in certain DoD-run networks, the company said Thursday.
“The DoD Mobile Device Strategy encourages a highly mobile workforce for greater mission effectiveness,” said Barry Mainz, MobileIron president and CEO.
MobileIron received the STIG approval five weeks after the company obtained Common Criteria Certification from the National Information Assurance Partnership for its Mobile Device Management Protection Profile.
NIAP is a joint activity of the National Security Council and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
The MobileIron Core technology is designed to integrate with backend enterprise information technology systems and helps users manage the security of mobile devices, applications and content.
