b-w-world-peopleThe Defense Department, Department of Homeland Security and the National Science Foundation will hold a cybersecurity-focused workshop for small business awardees of the Small Business Innovation Research program.

DHS said Monday the 2016 Government Cyber Security SBIR Workshop will allow active Phase II and III SBIR participants to feature their new research and offerings as well as partner with commercial, public sector and academic researchers and cybersecurity leaders.

The workshop aims to promote information sharing, advance deployed technologies and support the transition of small business-developed cybersecurity research to operational use, DHS added.

The event is a collaboration between NSF, the cybersecurity division of DHS’ science and technology directorate and DoD’s assistant secretary of defense for research and engineering.

The 2016 Government Cyber Security SBIR Workshop will begin Aug. 30 and continue through Sept. 1 at the J.W. Marriott in Washington.
