The U.S. Air Force has awarded Aptima two contracts worth $667,000 combined to expand the functionality of an information fusion platform designed to integrate data from various sources.
Aptima and the Air Force Research Laboratory will collaborate to equip the TID-BIT system with additional functions that will work to help intelligence analysts determine the source attribution of open-source intelligence or “soft†data as well as evaluate the reliability of the source in anti-access/area-denial environments, Aptima said Monday.
The company will also integrate another visualization layer with the system under the Small Business Initiative Research Phase II contract with AFRL.
The SBIR Phase III contract covers the integration of the TID-BIT platform with AFRL’s Multi-INT Enhanced Exploitation and Analysis Tools program as well as commercialization of the system.
Woburn, Massachusetts-based Aptima is a human performance assessment company and provider of predictive analytics, machine learning, interactive intelligent platforms, operations research and optimization, cognitive systems integration and learning management support services.
The company has over 800 contracts with the Defense Department and serves as a prime contractor on the U.S. Navy’s SeaPort Enhanced contract vehicle.
