John Kefaliotis, formerly Exelis vice president of international strategy and business development, has been appointed as president of Airbus Group‘s air traffic management subsidiary.
Airbus said Monday Kefaliotis provides more than 40 years of air traffic management experience in operational air traffic control, government services and systems contracting to support Metron Aviation‘s mission.
“With air traffic doubling every 15 years, and new technologies such as unmanned aerial systems entering the airspace, efficient and predictable air traffic management is crucial to managing traffic demand,” said Allan McArtor, Airbus Group chairman and CEO.
He added that Kefaliotis’ experience works to help Metron’s efforts to address those challenges.
Kefaliotis has worked at the Federal Aviation Administration and Stanford Telecommunications.
At Exelis, he has helped manage the deployment of national infrastructure for the Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast system.
