The U.S. Air Force has published a request for information on data links that the military branch can integrate with airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms.
A notice posted Aug. 17 on FedBizOpps website stated the Air Force seeks a data link system that is designed to comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulation and the State Department DSP-5 export licensing documentation.
Interested parties have until Aug. 31 to submit input to the service branch.
The Air Force aims to incorporate the data link into an ISR system that comprises an air and a ground segment equipped with standard commercial interfaces built to facilitate line-of-sight connectivity between aircraft, tactical receivers and a ground operator console.
The military service is interested in technology that can work in high moisture, humidity and vegetation areas as well as transfer MPEG and JPEG files from airborne sensors to ground terminals.
