Sarah Schacht, a principal consultant at Smarter Civic, has been appointed as operations manager at the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group.
The private sector-led organization said Thursday Schacht will help grow IDESG’s Identity Ecosystem Framework registry and foster collaborations with companies, government agencies and civil organizations in the areas of privacy, security and identity management.
“We are excited to have Sarah onboard and look forward to leveraging her social media, community engagement, open data and government expertise to advance the IDESG,” said Sal D’Agostino, IDESG president.
Schacht has worked with government, philanthropy and technology organizations and led an open government technology nonprofit.
Her work experience revolves around open government, government technology and data standards and includes developing partnership opportunities and outreach strategies as well as building strategy to address bureaucratic challenges.
IDESG was established to lead efforts to create a trust framework that can replace passwords under the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace program.
The organization launched the IDEF registry in June to serve as an online listing service where organizations can report their self-attested identity management status against IDEF baseline requirements in support of efforts to provide secure digital identity services.
