Rockwell Collins has been selected to provide a UH-60M Black Hawk simulator to the Mexican navy as part of an effort to help train the nation’s aviators in the operations of the helicopter built by Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky subsidiary.
The Mexican navy will use the Transportable Blackhawk Operations Simulator to help equip Black Hawk pilots with the skills required to achieve mission goals, Rockwell Collins said Wednesday.
“We believe this transportable solution is applicable to several operators in Latin America as part of their training and mission readiness needs,” said Alan Prowse, vice president and managing director of the Americas at Rockwell Collins.
Rockwell Collins will deliver the UH-60M simulator to Mexico by June 2017 under a foreign military sales program and will produce the simulator in Sterling, Virginia.
The company said this is its 17th delivery of the T-BOS system to both domestic and international customers.
T-BOS features actual Black Hawk avionics software and flight dynamics data and incorporates a glass front projection display, depth perception, image generator and ProSim projectors.
