Canada’s government, Rheinmetall and General Dynamics have signed a license agreement to supply Omnitrap decoy ammunition to that country’s navy.
Rheinmetall said Thursday the deal has an “eight-figure euro amount” and 30-year period, during which Rheinmetall will provide Omnitrap core components and technical assistance for the assembly line at General Dynamics’ facility in Repentigny, Quebec.
The agreement builds on General Dynamics and Rheinmetall’s decoy ammunition supply partnership that includes an order of 2,450 Omnitrap decoy rounds from Canada in 2015, Rheinmetall added.
General Dynamics’ ordnance and tactical systems segment manufactures Rheinmetall’s 40-milimeter LV and HV rounds and parachute illumination rockets for Canada’s military.
