Onvia has released new survey results that indicate improvements in how government agencies perform and operate procurement processes.
Onvia said Thursday the survey highlights growth prospect in government spending and bidding activity and the procurement aspects that help agencies attract contractors.
The report contains a new score meant to help government agencies measure their procurement performance.
“The score for 2016 is 63.8 and is measured on a 0-100 scale, with 13 percent of the agency staff surveyed associated with ‘high’ scores of at least 90,” Onvia noted.
“These scores point to real potential for positive improvement in the purchasing systems and operations of agencies,” said Paul Irby, Onvia market analyst.
“For those agencies with low scores of 0-49, only 41 percent report attracting enough bidders for their formal bids and [request for proposals],” Irby added.
