The U.S. Army has awarded a $21 million contract modification to Northrop Grumman to build an enterprise resource planning system for the service branch to manage tactical logistics and financial management functions.
The Defense Department said Thursday Northrop will develop, sustain, field and maintain the Global Support System-Army.
Army Contracting Command will obligate $1.4 million from fiscal 2014 to fiscal 2016 Army operations and procurement, research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
Northrop’s information technology business will perform work in Richmond, Virginia through September 30, 2017.
The Global Combat Support System-Army will be built to integrate logistics and financial management information systems within the service branch and the National Guard‘s active and reserve components into a single web-based platform.
