Lockheed Martin and the Allied Minds subsidiary HawkEye 360 have partnered to aid the adoption of HawkEye 360’s space-based radio frequency detection and mapping technology across new market segments.
Lockheed said Tuesday the partnership will explore new applications for HawkEye 360’s RF technology as the latter awaits regulatory approvals on its plan to deploy a constellation of small satellites in low-Earth orbit.
HawkEye 360’s planned constellation will work to locate, identify and analyze RF signals worldwide to help a range of clients monitor transportation networks, locate areas of interference and detect activated emergency beacons, Lockheed noted.
Dave Markham, vice president of strategy for Lockheed’s space systems segment, said the collaboration brings together Lockheed’s satellite systems portfolio and HawkEye 360’s space-based RF detection to address challenges facing the companies’ customer base.
