Joseph Leonard, former chief of staff of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations’ assessment and naval warfare integration segments, has joined Huntington Ingalls Industries as its large surface combatant program’s customer affairs corporate director.
HII said Friday Leonard will report directly to Dan Holloway, HII’s customer affairs corporate vice president, and will be responsible for the development and implementation of customer-oriented services in support of the company’s surface ship programs.
“Joe’s more than 30 years of naval service bring an invaluable perspective to our team as we continue to build large surface combatants at Ingalls Shipbuilding,” Holloway said.
“His at-sea knowledge and Navy leadership experience make him a great addition to the HII team as we continue to provide solutions for our Navy customer.”
Leonard has more than two decades of experience in strategic analysis and strategy development.
He is a retired Navy captain and was the commander of USS Thomas S. Gates and Destroyer Squadron 2 aboard the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier.
