mobile-device-managementHypori Federal has received a $750,000 contract from the Department of Homeland Security to further develop a virtual mobile infrastructure technology the company designed to help agencies secure mobile enterprise systems.

DHS said Tuesday that Hypori will work to integrate Bluetooth access functionality, high-level authentication and cloud tools into the company’s VMI under the Small Business Innovation Research Phase II Other Agencies Technology Solutions contract.

The company will also test new VMI features through a pilot program that will involve participants from federal civilian agencies and the Department of Defense, according to DHS.

Hypori was awarded an SBIR Phase I contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory in 2013 and the next phase of the project supports a mobile device security program run by the cybersecurity division of DHS’ Science and Technology Directorate.

Vincent Sritapan, MDS program manager at DHS’ cybersecurity division, said Hypori’s VMI technology will work to secure data on critical infrastructure systems accessed via mobile devices.
