Verizon has been awarded a pair of contract extensions from the General Services Administration to continue to provide federal agencies access to the company’s network and communications service offerings.
GSA extended by three years the company’s Networx Universal contract through March 2020 and its Networx Enterprise contract through May 2020 as customer agencies wait for the government to launch the Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contracting vehicle, Verizon said Wednesday.
“Our newly extended Networx program contracts will help ensure that we continue working together to enable federal agencies to deliver on their mission commitments in the U.S. and around the globe via reliable and secure network services for years to come,” noted Michael Maiorana, senior vice president of public sector markets at Verizon’s enterprise solutions business.
The company also received a three-year extension on its Washington Interagency Telecommunications System 3 contract with GSA.
GSA also asked Level 3 Communications to continue its internet, virtual private network and cloud computing services to agencies under the Networx Enterprise program until May 2020.
CenturyLink will extend its delivery of cloud and managed hosting services across the federal sector for an additional three years as part of its Networx Universal and Enterprise contract extensions.
The EIS contract has a ceiling value of $50 billion over a 15-year performance period and GSA aims to have the contract ready for governmentwide use in early 2017.
