Charles River Analytics has received a two-year, $500,000 follow-on contract to develop a cyber defense toolkit for the U.S. Air Force to assess software services for the military branch’s cybersecurity programs.
The company said Monday it will base the Managing Evaluation and Testing for Red Team Investigations of Cyber Security tool on the firm’s AgentWorks graphical application that works to help users design, create and test complex intelligent systems.
Sean Guarino, principal scientist at CRA and principal investigator on the METRICS initiative, said the program aims to facilitate creation of intuitive tools and cyber-defense performance measures for training exercises.
METRICS will comprise a real-time security failure assessment and identification library, a visualization framework for analysis findings review, authoring tools for metrics customization and a technology designed to identify non-invasive data-collection requirements.
