Boeing and Mahindra Defense Systems have launched a new facility at the Flight Simulation Technique Center in Gurgaon, India, to support C-17 pilot and loadmaster training for the Indian air force.
The full-service center is designed to train  C-17 aircrews for military airlift operations, humanitarian missions, aerial refueling and emergency procedures through simulation, courseware and computer-based training, Boeing said Friday.
The company added that the facility will also feature weapon systems and loadmaster station training equipment with individual or network deployment options, as well as support for night-vision training.
“Boeing believes that in the coming future, support to aircraft and crews will be a critical element of our partnership to support the IAF’s tactical and operational needs and to create a strong services infrastructure base in India,” said Tim Noonan, Boeing training systems and government services vice president.
He added that the new training center will work to provide real-world replication of training scenarios.
India currently has 10 C-17 airlifters, which Boeing delivered in 2014.
