Ama Romaine, formerly a vice president and senior counsel at Hilton Worldwide, has been appointed general counsel and supervisor of the office of counsel at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
Throughout her career, she has provided legal advisory services in the hospitality, financial services, energy and project finance industries, JHUAPL said Friday.

She most recently oversaw legal functions of Hilton’s brands, commercial services and corporate communications organizations as well as supervised a team that works on commercial agreements, consumer protection regulatory matters and intellectual property portfolio for the hospitality firm.
Romaine is a member of the Tahirih Justice Institute’s the D.C. advisory council and previously served on the boards at the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Women’s Bar Association Foundation.
