Millennium Engineering and Integration Co. has won a $21.5 million contract to identify and mitigate risks associated with the systems used in the U.S. Air Force space launch pad.
The Defense Department said Thursday Millennium Engineering will oversee safety operations, support launch countdown, address anomalies, perform safety inspections, conduct operations safety reviews for critical procedures and provide safety training for the military branch.
The company will carry out the task at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, through Sept. 30, 2021.
The Air Force received two bids for the indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract and obligated $3,000 in fiscal year 2016 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
