A business unit of AAR has received a $21.7 million task order from U.S. Transportation Command to provide additional rotary-wing airlift services in Afghanistan under an existing U.S. Central Command support contract.
The company said Tuesday its airlift division will supply two helicopters, personnel and flight operations, maintenance and logistics services as part of the nine-month task order.
AAR’s helicopter utility services cover external cargo transport and passenger and cargo transport services to Defense Department personnel.
“AAR will field an additional operational hub in fewer than 10 days following contract award notification, including two aircraft, personnel, spares, tooling and consumables,” said Steven Harrison, AAR airlift group president.
