ViaSat has reached the 500-unit production milestone for its KOR-24A small tactical terminal under a rate that works to roll out more than 20 terminals per month.
The company said Monday STT two-channel radios have worked to provide direct Link 16 network interoperability for U.S. and international military users through more than 1,000,000 operational flight hours.
“We produced and delivered over 210 STTs to customers over the course of the past year, and given pending orders and interest both in the U.S. and internationally, we expect a future with a minimum of several thousand STTs being delivered over the next decade,” said Ken Peterman, senior vice president and general manager of Viasat’s government systems division.
Canada’s selected KOR-24A to support its missions aboard the CP-140 Aurora patrol aircraft, ExecutiveBiz reported May 26.
Boeing also ordered 90 terminals in January for the Apache Guardian attack helicopter production line.
STT is currently deployed on fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, small maritime craft, deployable command and control stations and expeditionary gateways.
