The Interior Department has awarded a five-year, $25 million contract to a Tempus Applied Solutions subsidiary for airborne threat simulation services to the U.S. Navy and its research, development test and evaluation functions.
Tempus Jet will provide modified Learjet 35A and Learjet 60 aircraft with threat simulation, target towing and military communications functions for Navy threat simulation and training exercises, Tempus said Wednesday.
The company will fly the aircraft around continental U.S. and Hawaii naval bases for threat simulation and training exercises, Tempus noted.
Scott Terry, Tempus CEO, said that the company looks to provide newer threat simulation operational processes and technology to the Navy.
Tempus Jet has scheduled the start of work in the fourth quarter of 2016.
