SOS International’s subsidiary Exovera will develop a social media analytics tool for the U.S. embassy in Iraq under a three-year contract with the State Department.
Exovera’s news desk and customer support center will work to track and analyze traditional and social media and provide analytical products to the embassy, SOSi said Wednesday.
Jeremy Davis, Exovera president, said the company’s EV3 tool will utilize web-based data visualization to help government clients monitor social media trends and support efforts to anticipate “bellwether” events.
Exovera was established as a SOSi spinoff in 2012 and monitors news and social media websites with the use of its cloud-based tool.
SOSi noted that U.S. Strategic Command tapped the company in 2006 to set up what eventually became Exovera to serve as a global media watch center to inform Defense Department operations.
