Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, has received an $85 million modification to a foreign military sale contract from the U.S. Army to restore Mexico’s UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to full operations.
Sikorsky will conduct the retrofitting of the helicopters in West Palm Beach, Florida, with a planned end date of April 2019, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
The Army Contracting Command has obligated $25.6 million for the contract from its fiscal 2016 “other” procurement funds, DoDÂ added.
The Black Hawk helicopters work to provide vertical lift in extreme environments through the integration of its Future Combat Systems and automated aircraft health monitoring.
