ContractSigningThe Minority Business Development Agency has opened applications for a potential $2.5 million federal funding opportunity for an entity to operate an MBDA Federal Procurement Center Project.

The agency said Friday the project aims to provide technical assistance and business development services to minority business enterprises to help them find and secure contracts as well as create and retain jobs.

MBDA added the grant will include a three-year base period and two option years while funds will be given through cooperative agreements worth approximately $500,000 per year.

The center should be located within the greater metropolitan Washington at potential sites such as Arlington County, Fairfax County and Alexandria in Virginia as well as Montgomery County and Prince George’s County in Maryland.

For-profit entities, non-profit organizations, state and local government agencies, Native American tribes and educational institutions are eligible to apply for the opportunity until July 1.
