Ernest Portfors, former Klohn Crippen Berger chairman and eight-year member of Louis Berger‘s board of directors, has been elected as the latter’s chairman following the retirement of Nicholas Masucci.
Portfors has been part of Louis Berger’s board of directors since 2008 and is also a member of the audit committee, where he oversaw the company’s modernization and reform efforts, Louis Berger said Friday.
“Ernest is an exceptional leader who is highly respected both by the board and within our industry,” said Jim Stamatis, Louis Berger president and CEO.
“As a long standing member of our board and as the former chairman of one of our affiliate brands, Ernest has both a deep knowledge of our industry and of Louis Berger.”
Portfors has also worked with Klohn Crippen Berger as president and CEO, senior engineering vice president and vice president for the Pacific region before becoming chairman.
He has nearly 50 years of experience in project management, technical reviews and designs for projects in areas such as mining and transportation.
