Amazon Web Services has developed a new private cloud computing platform and AWS marketplace to support U.S. intelligence agencies’ work to discover, buy and deploy software packages and applications.
Jeff Barr, AWS chief evangelist, said in a blog post published Monday the company looks to provide a broad selection of big data, analytics, cloud transition support, DevOps, geospatial, information assurance and security services to the intelligence community.
AWS won a potential 10-year, $600 million contract in March 2013 to build the CIA and intelligence community cloud.
Barr said new system will provide more access to Amazon marketplace sellers that list products in the AWS marketplace as well as help streamline the contract negotiation process.
An AWS team is available for interested parties that need help with security and implementation requirements to sell products and services in the AWS marketplace.
