Intelligence community venture capital firm In-Q-Tel has made an investment in Interset to help the cybersecurity company further develop its user behavior analytics technology.
Interset designed its platform to help organizations uncover insider threats and compromised accounts as well as minimize fall-positive security alerts, the company said Thursday.
“U.S. intelligence and law-enforcement communities have long sought to protect critical data with an approach that surfaces attacks faster and more accurately, in a highly contextual, proactive way,” said Dale Quayle, Interset CEO.
He added actionable information can help government security professionals surface and convey anomalous behaviors and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Interset noted it utilizes machine learning and predictive analytics-based risk scoring tools in an effort to automate analysis of  computer log files and events related accounts, machines, digital systems and files.
