Inmarsat has moved to grow the satellite communications provider’s footprint in the Asia-Pacific region with a newly opened office in Tokyo, Japan.
The company said Monday it commemorated the opening with a traditional Japanese sake-barrel-breaking ceremony and several of Inmarsat’s partners and clients attended the celebration.
Gerbrand Schalkwijk, chief sales officer at Inmarsat’s maritime sector, said the company considers APAC as a key market for its maritime, aviation, government and enterprise sectors.
“We look forward to forging even closer strategic ties with our partners, equipment manufacturers and end users,” Schalkwijk added.
