Bechtel has secured a five-year contract extension from an autonomous Saudi Arabian government agency to continue to provide management services for two industrialÂ development projects in Jubail and Ras Al Khair.
The companyÂ said Monday itsÂ contract with theÂ Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu covers projects to construct residential and educational buildings as well as roads, bridges, hospitalsÂ and water, power and waste management facilities.
â€œBechtel is a key part of our team and they have played a major role in helping us to plan and implement the growth of Jubail and Ras Al Khair,â€ notedÂ Mosleh Al-Otaibi, chief executive of theÂ Royal Commission inÂ Jubail.
The companyÂ has supported the Jubail development effort since the mid-1970s.
Bechtel also helped manage severalÂ infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia,Â including the construction ofÂ aÂ Ras Al Khairal-based aluminum smelter,Â theÂ King Fahd and King Khalid international airports.
The Virginia-basedÂ contractorÂ also currently supports aÂ rapid transit system project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
